It all began in 1998 at a meeting of the Circle of Confusion, a group of beer drinkers with a photography problem, where a tender young miss by the name of Emily Rose Pearson met up with hardcore rock-n-roll rebel Don McCray.

Actually, it took about a year of monthly photography meetings for Emily to work up the courage to talk to Don – a big, bad biker guy who looks just like the type your parents told you not to talk to!

Emily ended up modeling for Don, and one glorious day she found out that they were both guitar players. “Let’s jam!” she said.

After long, hard work, Emily could accompany Don on guitar without a hitch, so she got the bright idea of starting a band. Yeah, right, whatever, Don thought, being a veteran of the music biz for over 20 years. “Sure, knock yourself out,” Don told Emily.

And that started it all! From their first group Fill in The Blanks to That Band, Don and Emily are still at it, combining forces with the very talented Dave Deason on drums to bring you a high energy musical experience you will never forget!

DON McCRAY founded That Band in 2001 and has played guitar for over 40 years and has been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Nokie Edwards, The Ventures, Dick Dale and John Lee Hooker. He played bass and lead guitar for 18 years with Misty Mountain, jammed with Victor Johnson, and opened for and played with The Coasters. He doesn’t mind getting up early, too much, as long as there is plenty of coffee!

EMILY ROSE taught herself guitar at age 15 and plays rhythm guitar and electric bass as well as singing lead and back up vocals. She has been inspired by Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Erica Brown, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and many other classic rock artists. She taught high school English 2000-2002 in Latvia with the Peace Corps and lived to tell about it. As for putting on a show, the more sparkle and glitter, the better she likes it! She has been a lead performer in That Band since 2002.

DAVE DEASON graduated in 1972 from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in percussion, and has an impressive performance history which includes two years with the Oklahoma City Symphony, two years with Heart, a year and a half with Doug Kershaw, three years with the Holy Modal Rounders and studio work with Tom Scott. "Life is a carnival," says Deason as he keeps busy performing not only with That Band but also with George Whitesell and His Allstars and Johnny & the Jukes.
